If the error E24 appears on the display of the Bosch dishwasher, it means that a problem has occurred in the system. The fault code tells the user where to look for a breakdown after it is decrypted. The instructions for use indicate the values of all problems. Code E 24 most often refers to drain problems.
How to fix the situation and reset the error, read below.
Causes of PMM Failure
The manufacturer convinces: the first thing to check is the drain hose. During the rearrangement of the machine, it could be overloaded or bent, which prevents the drainage of water. That's just the PMM gives an error at the beginning of the cycle, and not before the drain.
What could have caused the malfunction:
- Sensor malfunction, incorrect readings.
- Problems with the drain pump.
- Error electronic module.
- Clogged drain filter, impeller pump.
Attention! If the error E24 alternates with E22 on the display, these are problems in the drain filter; you need to pull it out and clean it. Read more about how to eliminate E22 code in a previous article.
Occasionally, error 24 is not associated with a drain.
Bosch dishwashers are equipped with a circulation pump. Inside the motor housing is a magnetic core that drives the impeller. The pulley where the core is installed is mounted on ceramic bushings. Over time, the bushings wear out, forming a production. Water enters the motor and core movement slows down.
The electronic board receives a signal about incorrect engine speeds, therefore it displays a malfunction code on the display.
There are many tips on the forums on how to deal with the problem. For example, open and close the hopper door, which will help reset the code. We recommend not to make such mistakes. So you just stop the self-diagnosis, but the problem remains. The pump (engine) should be inspected, and replaced if damaged.
How to fix a malfunction at home
The drainage system must be cleaned periodically. This is the prevention of problems with blockages and waste water. The drain filter must be cleaned twice a month:
- After disconnecting the machine from the mains, open the hopper door.
- Remove the basket for dishes.
- Unscrew the filter cylinder and pull it up.
- Rinse the net under running water.
- To get to the pump, remove the remaining water with a sponge.
- Press the cover inward until you hear a click.
- Pull up on the handle to allow access to the pump.
- Check if the impeller is spinning (use protective gloves).
Additionally check the drain pipe. Disconnect it from the sewer - if clogging is detected at the junction, use special tools to eliminate it.
Checking the drain pump
Over time, the pump becomes clogged with food debris, hair and debris are wound on the impeller. To check the operation of the part, you will have to disassemble the machine a little.
What to do:
- Disconnect the PMM from communications.
- Place a rag and turn the case over, allowing access to the bottom.
- Remove the screws that secure the rear and side panels.
- Remove the bottom cover.
- A pump (pump) is attached to the engine or heater (depending on the model).
- Unscrew the screw of its fastening.
- Rotate and remove the part.
After checking and cleaning, reinstall the pump.
To replace worn parts, select only original spare parts for PMM of your make and model. Then the car will work stably.
User Recommendations
If all of the above methods did not solve the problem, do the following:
- disconnect the right panel of the Bosch dishwasher;
- pull out the seal;
- at the bottom of the plastic box, there are tubes (see photo below);
- disconnect the tubes, check and remove the blockage;
- try restarting the wash cycle.
It’s not always easy to find and fix the problem. Sometimes you need to dig around and disassemble the equipment to find the cause of the breakdown. We tried to show and explain to you how to cope with a problem without the help of a wizard. Related video:
