The washing program is over, you are going to get the dishes, but see that it is wet? Why doesn't the dishwasher dry out the appliances? If your model has drying, but at some point it ceases to perform its functions, you need to stop work and establish the cause of the problem. We will examine the problem in more detail, perhaps your intervention will not be needed.
Reasons why PMM stopped drying dishes
Depending on the model of the dishwasher (Bosch, "Electrolux"), these types of drying are distinguished:
- condensation (natural);
- turbo dryer;
- heat exchange.
Why does the technique dry poorly? If condensation drying is built into your machine, then drips and drops of water at the outlet are normal. It's all about the specifics of the work. After the program ends, the dishes are treated with hot water, the chamber door opens a bit. By mixing the hot and cold stream, the wet dishes dry. But if you do not immediately get the instruments out of the hopper, condensation will form.
Flowing down the surface of devices, condensate leaves streaks. Therefore, before serving, the dishes need to be wiped.
Another thing is when kitchen utensils are not only wet, but also dirty. This may indicate a breakdown of one of the nodes of the dishwasher.
- Heater malfunction.If the water does not heat up, the dishes do not wash well, and the moisture does not evaporate. In turbo-drying models, cold air is blown instead of hot.
- The temperature sensor has broken.
- Failure of the electronic module. Then the PMM simply does not proceed to the drying cycle.
- The fan is out of order.
How to fix the problem
If the Bosch or another brand dishwasher does not perform the drying function, you need to check all the details that could cause the malfunction.
Heater and temperature sensor
When the control board sends a signal to heat, the heater turns on. He brings the water to the desired temperature, which is determined by the temperature sensor. Once the temperature is reached, the thermistor sends a signal to the module, and it stops heating.
If the machine does not heat water, the heater is checked first. In most dishwashers, it is flowing, it is part of the circulation unit. Replace it simply with your own hands:
- Disconnect the machine from the network and communications.
- Open the door and remove all baskets from the hopper.
- Flip the PMM onto the back wall.
- Remove the bottom pan (if any).
- In the assembly you will see a heater. It looks like this:
- Inspect its wiring. If burnt elements are visible, they must be replaced.
- It is checked by TEN with a multimeter. To do this, attach the test leads to the heater contacts. Indicators from 10 to 30 ohms indicate the health of the element.
- If broken, disconnect the wiring chips.
- Remove the fastening screw.
- Install a new heater.
Important! When choosing a heater, compare the marking with the old part.
If the temperature sensor malfunctions, the operation of the PMM can stop at the washing stage.The part is located in the water collection chamber. To replace, disconnect the wiring and install a new thermistor.
Fan and control module
In turbo-dried dishwashers, the fan delivers heated air to the chamber. There is an element in different parts of the dishwasher: at the side, top or bottom wall. In the event of a malfunction, you will not hear the noise that sounds during drying. To replace it, you have to almost completely disassemble the case.
On the control board there are triacs that control the operation of the nodes. During a power surge, the TENA triac could burn out. It is better to entrust the replacement to the master, you will need to work with a soldering iron. If the module itself fails, the installation of a new element will help. But such repairs will be expensive.
If you are not confident in your abilities, it is better to consult a specialist. Some users ask whether it is necessary to dry the dishwasher after washing. Mandatory if you want to avoid unpleasant odors. How to eliminate the smell from the dishwasher, read the article.
